Digital aerials are the one we use mostly for catching TV signals. They are of two types mainly. The inner digital aerials are connected to the TV and are installed easily inside the home. While the external TV aerials are installed at the roof or outside the building. The external digital aerials can catch signals from a farther area then the inner digital aerial. It is estimated that the inner aerial catches signal around 1-15 miles’ radius while the external digital aerial catches the signals from area of 30 miles.
If signals are not being received by the normal digital aerial, then the other option left is satellite aerials. Satellite aerials can catch signals from very far away area. It uses the beam technology which catches the signals like a flash light. The technology of Digital aerial and Satellite aerial is very different. The digital aerial is for local area. It works only in a limited area. While the satellite aerial can be used widely.
Satellite aerials applications are more than just TV signals. Satellite aerials are used in many applications such as radar and other networks, while digital aerials applications are very limited.
